Locals prevent attack by suspected Bello Turji’s gang in Zamfara
A local security outfit known as Yan Sakai in Zamfara State has foiled an attack by a gang of a notorious bandits’ leader, Bello Turji at the farming community of Fadamar Tara.
Newsmen gathered that the vigilante group engaged the bandits in an operation fire for fire.
According to a resident of the area, Yakubu Ishiaku, the bandits planned to terrorize the area before the locals engaged them in the operation.
He said that the local security outfit, known as Yan Sakai, mobilized swiftly and confronted the bandits to defend the community.
Speaking further, Ishiaku noted that the axis had always been in the total control of the bandits before the locals decided to form a group to challenge the bandits.
“Since the formation of the group, we have been enjoying peace as the group is ready to challenge the bandits at any given time.
“We no longer depend on the military or security operatives for safety as we can defend ourselves perfectly now.
“We have been losing to these deadly elements, because we were afraid of them, now we have the courage to battle them,” he said. All efforts to get comment from the spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Yazeed Abubakar proved unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report
