LGSC officials visit Ojokoro LCDA

The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA Hon. HID Tijani, Management and Staff yesterday warmly welcomed the officials of the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) on official visit to the  Council.

HID while addressing the commissioners expressed his appreciation for the regular visits to see to the welfare of the staff in order to enhance and maximise productivity.

“We appreciate your commitment to the growth and development of Local Government Administration particularly through the posting of professionals and seasoned civil servants whose wealth of experience and vast knowledge have been instrumental to the achievements which our administration has recorded.”

Dir. Admin & HR Local Government Establishment and Training Office Mrs. Oluwatosin Adegun representing the Permanent Secretary for Local Government Establishment and Training Office shed more light on the ongoing posting of  staff from one Local Government to another as it is a form of human capital development and a source of creating resilience in staff to be able to withstand any form of hardship wherever they are being posted to.

She also encouraged the local government to embark on regular celebration of any member of staff that is due for retirement so as to serve as an encouragement to others that are still in service.

Dir. Adegun while addressing the staff, appealed to the Chairman to continue to assist in the sponsorship of junior staff in the Local Council Development Area to the Public Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) for regular professional training to enhance adequate service delivery to the local government and avoid staff stagnation.

Dir. Recruitment, Discipline and Exit, Mr Sedeton Ogabi who represented the Permanent Secretary for Local Government Service Commission, elucidated further on the purpose of the visit as it is to enlighten the staff more on Civil service rules which serves as a guideline.

Dir Ogabi warned every member of staff to desist from not reporting to any Local Government they are being posted to as the commission frowns at such act

The Commissioners led by the Chairman of the Commission Hon. Karmal  Bayewu ably represented by Hon. Hakeem Gbamgbola who came visiting to further promote staff welfarism, encourage staff to take proper care of their health, arrest and treat any aliment promptly so that untimely death can be reverse thereby promote productivity at the maximal level.

He went further to express his satisfaction at the Chairman for the provision of the Staff bus bought to convey staff expecially this period of subsidy removal and admonished  members of staff to ensure they give their best to further make Ojokoro a land of prosperity as it’s name implies.

Present at the meeting were, Honourable Commissioners for Ikeja Hon Taofeek  Adaranijo, Hon. Hammed Seriki for Epe, Hon. Olubowale Sosimi for Ikorodu, Permanent Secretaries and Directors.
