LG elections: Ogun State declares Friday work-free day

The Ogun state government through the Bureau of Service Matters, Office of the Head of Service, has announced a work free day for all state workers.

The directive, approved by the Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun is intended to give workers the opportunity to travel to their respective local government areas to participate in the local government elections scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024.

The elections, organized by the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), will see the election of chairpersons for Ogun State’s twenty local government areas and councillors for its 236 wards. This initiative underscores the administration’s dedication to fostering inclusiveness and participatory democracy. Permanent Secretaries and heads of government agencies have been advised to ensure compliance with this directive.
