LCYDI awards social impact heroes in Lagos

The Lagos community youth development initiative (LCYDI) has recognised and awarded exceptional social impact heroes in Lagos.

At a ceremony on Sunday, the state chairman, LCYDI, Ambassador Akanni Michael spoke on LCYDI strides through community service.

He highlighted that the association executed a feed the community projects by over 80 percent of its chapters in Lagos State in most of the local government areas conducting impactful medical outreach in partnership with other non-governmental organisations in most of the council areas across the state and organising clean up initiatives in collaboration with various youth groups.

He expressed his belief in the power of collaboration towards a positive change emphasising that it is a bedrock to the development of every community.

In respect to the essence of LCYDI social impact awards night and banquet, the chairman, event planning committee, Comrade Babatunde Yaya stated that the award was to identify and recognise excellence by acknowledging those who throughout the year 2023 have significantly shaped and elevated the development of communities in Lagos State

He noted that the vision extends far beyond a single event.

“LCYDI envisions this award as a perennial platform a yearly tradition where excellence is not just acknowledged but becomes an inspiration.”

Representing the chairman, Lagos Island East LCDA, Muib Alade Folawiyo who was awarded as one of the most performing chairman in Lagos state is the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Hon. Adekunle Bashorun. Speaking for the awardee, Hon. Bashorun appraised the Chairman, saying the award is richly deserved noting the heights of infrastructures and projects he pioneered in his constituency. He applauded the chairman expressing that he is worthy of commendations.
