Lawmaker grants 1,500 free JAMB forms to indigent students in Ifako-Ijaiye, promises scholarships

The lawmaker representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji, demonstrated his commitment to education by distributing 1,500 free JAMB forms to indigent students in the constituency.

The event, held at Fagba Junior Grammar School (Complex), witnessed Hon. Adewale Temitope’s dedication to his vision of elevating Ifako-Ijaiye to Nigeria’s most educated local government by 2037.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Hon. Adewale Temitope reiterated the importance of education, stating, “The goal of the ATA-EI is to ensure our children receive an education. An educated mind is a liberated mind, which is why education is a cornerstone of my administration’s agenda.”

In addition to the free JAMB forms, Hon. Adewale Temitope pledged scholarships for the top 50 students who secure admission into tertiary institutions from the pool of beneficiaries.

Furthermore, he offered an incentive of a trip to the United Arab Emirates for two outstanding students who excel in their fields post-admission, aiming to motivate them to maximize the opportunities provided.

Dr. Kennedy Akudo, a senior lecturer at the Lagos State University Of Education (LASUED), commended Hon. Adewale Temitope for his commitment to education and urged other lawmakers to follow suit.

The event also saw advice from Adebowale Bashir, the Tutor General and Permanent Secretary Education District 1, who encouraged students to focus on their JAMB exams and steer clear of distractions.

Since 2019, Hon. Adewale Temitope has distributed over 4,000 free JAMB forms to indigent students, showcasing his ongoing dedication to educational accessibility.

Attendees at the ceremony included notable figures such as Dr. Jide Johnson from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Dr. Victor Onifade, Leader of Ifako-Ijaiye Legislative House, Ifako-Ijaiye APC chairman Banjo Omole, Hon. (Evang) Funke Olaleye, Assistant Financial Secretary of Lagos State APC, Oba-Elect Iju Ogundinmu, Gbolahan Matthew, councillors, and various political stakeholders.
