Lawan vs Machina: How I brought NASS’ attention to loophole in Electoral Act 2022 – Sowore

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has narrated how he pointed out a particular gap in the Electoral Act 2022, which led the Supreme Court to declare the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, a candidate.

Sowore said he called the attention of the Nigerian lawmakers to it during its public hearing stage.

His statement was contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday.

Recall that the Supreme Court recently announced Lawan as the authentic All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial candidate for Yobe North.

Sowore explained that Lawan was fraudulently declared a candidate in an election in which he did not contest the primaries because of the loophole.

“At the @nassnigeria public hearing on the “Electoral Act 2022″ I had a chance to tell Nigerian lawmakers the lacuna in the Electoral Act that got the Senate President, Lawan fraudulently declared a candidate in an election where he did not contest the primaries,” Sowore tweeted.
