LASTMA trains officers on operational efficiency, standards

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has embarked on a three-day in-house training  to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery of its personnel.

Mr Sola Giwa, Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Transportation, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Lagos.

Giwa said that the training would cover  critical topics to guarantee standards and efficiency.

“The topics include diplomatic enforcement, which has to do with strategies for executing effective traffic management, while maintaining constructive public relations.

“Also included is advanced techniques for preserving mental and physical well-being in high-pressure scenarios, upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in traffic operations

“Other topics are building cohesive teams to optimise productivity and elevate service quality; mastering communication for clarity, precision and maximum impact; cultivating emotional intelligence to navigate conflicts and foster positive public engagement,” he said.

He said that Navy Capt. Akinyemi Samuel, an authority in stress management, would lead the session on stress management and wellness, imparting actionable strategy to help participants to manage stress and maintain peak effectiveness.

“This training underscores LASTMA’s unwavering commitment to continuous capacity enhancement and operational excellence, ensuring that officers are well-armed with the necessary skills and insights to excel in their respective roles.

“Since the beginning of the year, LASTMA has prioritised training and re-training of its personnel, with over 3,000 officers having undergone specialised instruction in various aspects of traffic management.

“The Lagos State Government places immense emphasis on professional development of its workforce, ensuring  delivery of exceptional services to the motoring public,” Giwa said.
