LASTMA personnel rescue driver from accident

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority personnel have rescued a driver from a near-fatal accident after he experienced brake failure in the Apapa Area of the state.

The LASTMA spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq in a statement said that the agency has demonstrated their dedication to the safety of road users in an extraordinary rescue effort.

According to him, “A private white bus, registration RBC 945 TT, suffered a critical brake failure while travelling at high speed, leading to a violent collision with the central road median near Area B, at the intersection with Point Road, Apapa.

“LASTMA personnel stationed nearby acted with exceptional speed and efficiency, reaching the accident site immediately to render aid.

“The Officers bravely rescued the injured driver from the wreckage, providing preliminary assistance and stabilising him until further help arrived. The quick-thinking response not only saved the driver’s life but also prevented further disruption on the busy Apapa route.”

Taofiq said following the rescue of the driver, LASTMA Officers handed him over to Area B Police personnel,who quickly rushed him to the Apapa General Hospital for immediate medical attention.

He added that this incident highlights LASTMA’s commitment to ensuring  public safety and its ability to handle emergencies with professionalism and compassion.
