LASG opens Badagry master plan for public review

The Lagos State Government is set to present the Draft Report on the Review of the Badagry Master Plan (2022-2042) for public evaluation from Wednesday, June 19th to Friday, July 26th, 2024.
The Permanent Secretary, Office of Physical Planning, Engr. Oluwole Sotire, in a statement announced this during the weekend.
The 28-day public review will take place at various locations within the Badagry division, allowing stakeholders to examine the proposals and provide feedback to enhance the plan, he said.
Sotire emphasized that this public scrutiny is integral to creating an inclusive plan, aligning with the state’s tradition of citizen participation in preparation of Physical Development Plans.
He added that the review will be held at 13 venues, including Local Government/Local Council Development Area Secretariats within the Badagry division, local planning offices in the Badagry division, the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, the Secretariat in Alausa, and the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) headquarters in GRA, Ikeja.
To boost public involvement, he also mentioned that a final Stakeholders Meeting will follow the public review on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
He said, “It is worthy of note that to ramp up public participation in the plan preparation process, the 28-day public inspection of the Draft Report on the Review of Badagry Master Plan(2022-2042) will be followed by a final Stakeholders Meeting at 9 am on Thursday 8th August 2024 at LASU Main Auditorium, Ojo. ”
Sotire stated that the Master Plan, being updated after 20 years, aims to utilize the unique features and environmental sustainability of the plan area to foster sustainable growth and socio-economic development in Lagos State, establishing it as a premier investment destination in sub-Saharan Africa.
