LASG directs removal of illegal structures in Ikeja

Lagos state Government through ministry of physical planning and urban development has directed resident of Sobo Arobiodu street, Ikeja GRA in Ikeja Local government Area to remove illegal structures in the area.

A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary to Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban development, Arc. F. A Dipe said the rehabilitation of Sobo Arobiodu street is to heighten interconnectivity and socio-economic development of the Area as enshrined by the urban regeneration intervention programme.

According to the him, “the upgrading of the Sobo Area street, within Ikeja government reservation area is based on the Model City Plan.

“Subsequently, the government converged a stakeholder’s meeting on  26th November 2020 with all owners/occupies of affected buildings on the right of way of sobo Arobiodu  street. Ikeja in GRA. With the plan of sensitizing them so as to ensure successful execution of the project.

“However, the state government through ministry of physical planning and urban development will serve statutory notice on the affected structure while the removal of structures will be taken over at the expiration of the notice.

“Government uses this medium to appeal to the affected residents to move out of the approved right of way of Sobo Arobiodu street and comply with government policies.”
