Barcelona president, Joan Laporta has given the clearest indication that Lionel Messi is set to return to the LaLiga club.
The Catalans were crowned Spanish champions on Sunday – the first time since Messi left the club.
However, Barca are keen to bring the 35-year-old back, although LaLiga authorities would need to ratify the deal.
“We want Leo — we will not offer crazy figures for that or any other deal. We’ll try to make things work with viability plan, waiting for (LaLiga) approval,” Laporta said.
“Where would Leo play? Up to Xavi, it’s never an issue with the best player in the world”.
Messi is set to become a free agent when his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires in June.
