LaLiga: Aguero agrees to forfeit one year wages as Barcelona terminates his contract

Barcelona are said to be grateful to Sergio Aguero for his attitude during negotiations to terminate his contract, according to Diario Sport.

Aguero announced his retirement from football this week due to a heart problem.

However, the Argentina striker only moved to Spain this summer and signed a two-year deal with Barca.

Being aware of the financial challenges at the Nou Camp, Aguero decided to forfeit the second year of his contract.

The former Manchester City player will also only collect part of his wages for this season.

Aguero was able to make only five appearances for Barcelona and scored once against Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old however scored 260 goals in 390 games for City, 100 in 230 for Atletico Madrid, 18 in 38 for Independiente and 41 in 101 for the Argentine national team.
