The Lagos State Government has expressed its commitment to improving the revenue and efficiency of the Lagos State Ferry Service (LAGFERRY).

The Commissioner for Transportation, Osiyemi, stated that the government is integrating all modes of transportation to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.

According to Osiyemi, the environment, ambience, and efficiency of the boats are critical to driving more traffic to the ferries and increasing ridership, which would translate to enhanced revenue for the state.

He emphasised the importance of passenger experience and the need to adequately utilise assets to generate revenue.

The government is also focusing on increasing ridership, removing people from the road, and driving traffic down to the boats.

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Taxation and Revenue, Abdulkadir Ogungbo, noted that capacity building is essential for entrenching processes, service delivery, and efficient and qualitative service to members of staff.

The Permanent Secretary, Parastatals Monitoring Office, Lagos State, Mrs. Adetutu Ososanya, stated that the essence of the capacity building is to enhance the performance of LAGFERRY workers.

She emphasised the importance of leveraging revenue performance through waterways services and making customers feel safe on the waterways.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, LAGFERRY, Abdoulbaq Balogun, said that the agency would continuously evolve in its dynamism for efficient and effective service delivery.

He highlighted the need to think deeply and creatively to deliver innovative initiatives that would bring more revenue to the purse of the Lagos State government.
