Lagos Tourism Fair aims for N5bn sales

The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture has reaffirmed its commitment to using entertainment to stimulate trade, targeting ¦ 5 billion in sales at the 2025 Lagos Tourism Fair.

The fair, organised in collaboration with the Naija Brand Chick (NBC) trade fair, will take place from April 11 to 13 at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday.

He noted that the government’s focus on supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs is reflected in various initiatives designed to boost the local economy and cultural exchange.

“This marks the second time Lagos State is collaborating with NBC,” Aregbe stated.

“The essence of tourism lies in commerce and cultural development, while supporting job creation, reducing poverty, and promoting the growth of small businesses.”

He added that this year’s fair will be bigger and better, with new features to enhance the experience and maximise its impact.

“We are introducing an online deals spot to improve accessibility, ensuring that buyers can shop smartly, save money, and access high-quality products,” he said.

Aregbe also revealed that discounted shopping opportunities would be available for attendees.

NBC founder Nelly Agbogu expressed excitement about the fair, emphasising Lagos’ commercial strength and its influence on trade exhibitions.

“Lagos provides the ideal environment for business growth. This fair exemplifies how, with the right support, dreams can become a reality,” Agbogu said.

“This event empowers SMEs and transforms lives,” she added, thanking the Lagos State Government for its commitment to small business growth.

Lagos Tourism and NBC are setting new standards by focusing on increasing sales, strengthening relationships between vendors and customers, and cementing the fair’s status as a key business event in Nigeria.

The event will feature new activities such as business masterclasses, interactive workshops, and financial inclusion initiatives, offering grants and support to vendors.

In addition to business, there will be appearances from influencers and celebrities, cultural performances, dance shows, giveaways, and raffles to boost sales and visibility.

The fair is expected to generate ¦ 5 billion in sales, with over 220 vendors and 75,000 attendees across the three days.
