Lagos taskforce conducts extensive raid in Oshodi, apprehends 63 suspected miscreants

The Lagos State Taskforce raided Oshodi and its environs on Wednesday to stop reported cases of criminal activities by hoodlums, causing anxiety among residents and commuters.

However, the Task Force was met with difficulty to arrest some suspected miscreants who tried to evade arrest  but their strong determination paid off leading to the arrest of some individuals who engaged in different criminal activities.

CSP Jejeloye expressed serious concern over the kind of harmful weapons and substances which are suspected to be cannabis sativa recovered from the arrested suspects.

“We recovered harmful weapons and suspected hard drugs from these suspected miscreants during the raid across Bolade Junction, Mosafejo, Oshodi Bridge, Oshodi Under Bridge, Brown Street, Railway Track and the BRT Corridors,” he said.

“One of the suspects even injured one of our officers while being arrested in an attempt to escape, but he was apprehended before he took to his heels.”

According to the CSP, some of the dark spots raided include Bolade Junction, Mosafejo, Oshodi Bridge, Oshodi Under Bridge, Brown Street, Railway Track, and the BRT Corridors.

He added that despite the difficult attitude of the suspects, to escape arrest the task force successfully carried out the operation.

He further explained that the operations are part of the agency’s planned program for 2024, aimed at boosting the confidence of Lagosians and ensuring a safe environment.

“Residents of the State should be able to go about their business at any time of the day without fear,” he added.
