…Tells residents to prioritise safety amid extreme weather conditions, road hazards
As Lagosians approach the end of the year, the Director General of the Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola, has called on residents to take personal responsibility for safety.
In light of the ongoing extreme weather conditions, including excessive heat and dry spells, Mr. Mojola emphasised that protecting lives should be the top priority for all.
Speaking to journalists over the weekend, Mojola underscored the health risks posed by the current weather, which can cause fatigue, high fever, dehydration, and blurred vision.
He warned that these conditions can be harmful, urging everyone to remain vigilant and prioritise their well-being.
“Once there is life, there is hope for a better tomorrow. We can only hope for the best,” Mojola said.
The Safety Commission also issued specific safety guidelines, advising against smoking in public areas and the improper storage of flammable substances, including fuel, in homes, shops, or stalls.
Mojola also called on Lagosians to support the government’s safety initiatives, ensuring that homes, workplaces, and the environment remain free of incidents that could endanger lives.
He encouraged the public to visit the Safety Commission’s website for further safety tips and guidelines
