The Lagos State Command is set to arraign a 23-year-old ex-convict, Samuel Agbaje, and his partner, Obia Moses for allegedly stealing an erected gate from a residential building at Adeniyi Jones in the State Capital.
This was disclosed in a statement released by the Lagos Rapid Response Squad on Thursday.
It was said that these suspects were nabbed during the Lagos Police RSS patrol with the aim of securing the neighbourhood.
Agbaje and Moses sneaked into the compound of the unsuspecting victims and stole their residence entrance gate. After they were apprehended, the duo confessed to the operatives that they were taking the gate to where they wanted to sell it at Agege.
The statement partly read,”The ex–convict, Samuel Agbaje, 23 years old, was released from Kirikiri Medium Prison in October, 2024. Agbaje and his accomplice, Obia Moses were arrested in Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja by RRS operatives on night patrol.
“The suspects were arrested early Tuesday morning after stealing half of the main gate of a residential building in the area.
“They were thereafter led to the scene of the theft. The residents were shocked that the suspects removed their building entrance gate without any of them knowing.”
Reacting to the burglary case, Shola Jejeloye, the RSS Commander ordered that the suspects should be arraigned to court immediately, as there was nothing to investigate about the case.
