Lagos Police nab 2 suspected armed robbers, recover arms

The Operative attached to Satellite Division of the Lagos State Police Command on Saturday at 2.15pm, arrested two suspected armed robbers.

According to Lagos State  Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the operation was effectively carried out, after receiving information that some armed men scaled the fence of Amuwo Odofin Senior Grammar School, Old Ojo Road, Agboju Bus Stop, Lagos, where pupils were writing common entrance examination into the Federal Government Colleges in Nigeria.

He said, the armed men had attacked, with dangerous weapons, some of the parents and guardians that accompanied their children to the venue of the examination, but the anti crime patrol team stationed at the examination venue responded swiftly and arrested the two suspected robbers, while others took to their heels.

“The suspects are (1) Tunji Lawal M, 22 and (2) lkechukwu Oguawai M, 22, both of no fixed address.

“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the Command’s Special Squad, Ikeja, for proper investigation and possible prosecution, while the fleeing members of the robbery gang be apprehended.

“The Police boss has however reassured the general public of adequate security of lives and property and public safety in Lagos State as he emphasised on constant security at all schools and colleges in the state.”
