Lagos: Police crack down on crime, arrest 90 suspects in targeted raid

In a bold move to tackle criminal activities and boost security, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and Area A Command conducted a joint operation in Obalende, Adeniji, and Lagos Island, resulting in the arrest of 90 male suspects.

The operation, which began around midnight on Tuesday, focused on known trouble spots within these areas, following actionable intelligence.

According to the Lagos State Police Command, the primary goal of this operation was to clamp down on criminal activities and bolster security in the region.

Following extensive searches conducted at identified locations, the suspects were apprehended and handed over to the custody of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce).

In a related development, CSP Shola Jejeloye, Commander of the RRS, directed the squad’s riders to expand their patrols into Lekki, Jakande Roundabout, and V.G.C. This move is part of intensified efforts to maintain law and order across the city.
