Lagos: Police arrest woman for allegedly abducting one-month-old baby

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 21-year-old woman, identified simply as Blessing, for allegedly kidnapping a one-month-old baby boy.

Confirming the arrest, the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, informed journalists on Wednesday that the mother of the baby, whose identity remains undisclosed, reported the incident to the Elere Police Division on Monday around 2:30 pm.

According to Hundeyin, the mother stated that on Saturday around 7:00 am, while she was asleep at home with her baby, Blessing allegedly stole the child.

Subsequently, Hundeyin revealed that the suspect purportedly attended a church service to testify about her newborn, leading to the discovery and recovery of the baby.

“Investigations into the matter are currently underway,” he said.
