These violators were arrested at various clubs which includes; Eclipse Night Club, Ligali Ayorinde Street, and Victoria Island Lagos.
Earlier the Commissioner of Police Lagos State CP Hakeem Odumosu expressed zero tolerance for violators of COVID-19 protocols and ordered the rank and file of the force to follow suit.
The Police boss said, “the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Department in the command are to be on the prowl of violators of the preventive protocols and orders of the government on halting the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Giving the detailing of how the violators were arrested he said, “The Police operatives attached to Maroko Division of the state, went after the deviant clubbers and got them arrested in the club clustering and clubbing without any regard for the COVID-19 Protocols.”
Odumosu ordered that the suspects be moved to the Taskforce office Oshodi for prosecution and emphasized that club owners would no longer be spared as they encourage total disregard for the protocols in the state.
“According him, based on reports and updates on the spread of the pandemic, Lagosians are admonished to be law-abiding and value their lives as the pandemic is a global reality for violation.”
