The Lagos State Government will kick off its Social Protection Stakeholders’ Sensitization Campaign on Tuesday (today), November 19, 2024, in Ikeja Division, as part of ongoing efforts to uplift vulnerable citizens across the state.
The campaign, branded the Lagos Social Protection Programmes Awareness Campaign, is designed to increase public awareness about the state’s social protection policies and the Single Social Register, which currently includes over 2.6 million registered individuals.
The IBILE Social Protection Awareness Campaign seeks to highlight the work of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Social Protection and its efforts in providing support to vulnerable communities in all five divisions of Lagos State: Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, and Epe.
This tour is set to bring the framework of the Lagos State Social Protection Policy closer to residents, allowing them to engage directly with government representatives and offer feedback on the various interventions aimed at improving their lives.
The tour will begin at the Ojodu LCDA Council Hall, Oke-Ira, Ogba, under the Ikeja Division, and will move across the remaining divisions in the coming days.
Key stakeholders, including Community Development Committees (CDCs), Community Development Associations (CDAs), local government chairmen, and residents, are expected to participate in the discussions.
