Vava furniture Nigerian Limited has expressed optimism over the commercement and opportunities in the 35th edition of the Lagos State international Trade Fair, organized by Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
Speaking with Nigerian NewsDirect, Mr. Moheb maintained that, even though COVID-19 pandemic had distrupted many business activities, leading to change of date, the Fair would open many doors of opportunities.
Explaining the business of furniture, he said that Vava furniture was different from other furniture companies in the company since the company has its manufacturing factory domiciled in Nigeria.
According to him, “For us at Vava Furniture, we have our factory here in Nigeria. We are manufacturing here. We are not importing like other firms. Vava is almost like Nigerian brand.”
While advising the organizers on the need to reduce the gate fee, Mohab said doubling the fee may seriously have effect on sales, noting that “small details as such would affect businesses.”
Reacting to the agitation for the reduction of gate fee, the President of LCCI, Mrs. Toki Mabogunje, said the issue was not a profiteering.
She said the Chambers made nothing from the gate fee while explaining the need to pay services being rather by the managers of the venue and other prevailing economic environment informed the new price.
According to her, “The problem about the Gate Fee is that we don’t make money from it. The fee is just a token. We have to pay the PHCN. We have to pay for water and other services being rendered by TBS. We try to make it as low as possible,” imploring the exhibitors to “bear with us. It is the environment.”
On the need to patronize Nigerian products and services, Mrs. Mabogunje said, “It is a must and your responsibility to ensure that the country prosper.”
She added that “All of us must patronize made in Nigeria. We have excellent entrepreneurs and quality products,” insisting that it was only “That way, we will all prosper.”
