The Lagos State Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Odumsu, has again reiterated the command’s commitment to eradicate traffic robber in Lagos State. Even as thirteen violators were arrested in Fresh operation.
Odumosu, made this call at the Command Headquarters Ikeja yesterday while addressing officers and men of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and other operational units who are deployed at strategic places across the state to fight traffic robbery.
In an earlier briefing by the RRS commander CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, confirmed to the commissioner of Police Lagos State the arrest of thirteen alleged traffic robbers across various places in the State.
He said, “Additional thirteen (13) suspected traffic robbers were arrested by the operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Wednesday while lurking around Motorways, Old Toll-Gate and Olusosun Dump site, Ojota, Lagos.”
He gave the details of the suspected traffic robbers as follows: keredola Taiwo,m, (33), Oriyomi Solola,m, (28), Olanrewaju Sikiru, m, (25), Hakeem Ridwan, m, (22), Joseph Ovie,m, (33), Muhammadu Aminu,m, (32), Monday Nweke,m, (35), Emmanuel Anthony,m, (24), Onyeka Muoghara,m, (40), Salaudeen Rilwan,m, (32), Kayode Dele,m, (31), Silas Manner,m,(27) and Favour Elijah,m, (26).
According to the RRS Commander, “Some of the suspects were caught red-handed while taking drugs in their hideouts around the corridor; and they were actually fingered, recognised by the residents and eye witnesses to have been involved in some of the previous traffic robberies and other crimes being perpetrated in the areas.”
“The Commissioner of Police has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for proper investigation and possible prosecution.”
Odumosu however assured the general public of the comnand’s relentless efforts in eradicating traffic robbery and providing adequate security for all and sundry in Lagos State.
