Lagos CP condemns molestation of arrested protesters, orders thorough, immediate investigation

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Odumosu has condemned the alleged molestation of the #EndSARS protesters and ordered  immediate  and thorough investigation into the matter.

This was against the background of the viral video which showed that some of EndSARS protesters was molested by  some yet to be identified  individuals  in the bus after being arrested.

In a signed statement by the Lagos State Police command Public Relation Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, made Available to Nigerian NewsDirect.

The Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Odumosu who was not pleased by the act displayed in the viral video,  has tagged it unprofessional, ordered for critical analysis of the video and  vowed to bring to book those involved in such dastardly act.

He said, “I was   piqued by this unprofessional and inhuman act, and  ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State CID, Panti, DCP Adegoke Fayoade, to analyse the video and bring to book whoever that must have been responsible for the act.”

The Police boss reiterated that police is guided by the rule of law and standard Operating Procedure of the force and will deal decisively with anyone found acting in defiance to this guidelines.

“In as much the command is resolute in enforcing all laws in the state, it will not deviate from the Standard Operating procedure of the Nigeria Police Force and provisions of the law in discharging its duties; nothing that the command will fish out those responsible for the molestation and ensure they are punished for thier unprofessional conduct.”

However,  he urged Lagosians to be law-abiding and maintain peace at all times as the police and other security agencies will not allow any violence and break down of law and order in any part of the state.
