Lagos breaks ground with EKO LAWS app, revolutionizes legal access

In the wake of improving legal literacy and access to legal information, the Lagos State Ministry of Justice and Team Ace, a dynamic group of young innovators, launch the EKO LAWS App.

The mobile application was unveiled on Wednesday at the Bagauda Khaltho Press Centre by the 2024 cohorts of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy.

The EKO LAWS App is designed to bridge the gap in legal literacy among Lagos residents by providing user-friendly access to legal information.

It was gathered that the innovative is set to empower residents with the knowledge needed to navigate the legal system effectively and confidently.

According to project team lead, Usman Adeniji, the app offers a user-friendly interface, easy search functionality, and one-click access to emergency services contact details.

Adeniji highlighted the pressing need for this innovation, noting that approximately 70% of Lagos residents currently lack access to clear and comprehensible legal information.

“The EKO LAWS App is a product of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy’s Capstone Project, which seeks to address societal challenges faced by Lagos residents,” he explained.

Adeniji emphasized that the launch of the EKO LAWS App marks an important step towards promoting the rule of law and justice for all in Lagos State.

“With its user-centered design and innovative technology, this app is set to make a lasting impact on the lives of Lagos residents,” he added.
