The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State says all Nigerians, regardless of faith or background, must unite in the spirit of Eid Maulud and work together towards a brighter future.
The State APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, made the statement on Monday in an Eid Maulud message to Nigerians.
Ojelabi urged Muslim faithful in the country and across the globe to embrace love and peace as they commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.O.H).
The APC chairman urged them to emulate the spirit of brotherhood and oneness preached by Prophet Muhammad during his lifetime.
He said, “Today, we gather to celebrate the life, teachings, and legacy of the Prophet Muhammad, who embodied compassion, justice, and peace.
“We enjoin the people to live together in harmony and respect one another so that the Nigerian nation could continue to witness growth and prosperity for the benefit of all.
“As we mark this significant occasion, we should reflect on the values of love, tolerance, and forgiveness that are fundamental to the Islamic faith.”
On the current economic situation, Ojelabi said that the party recognised that many Nigerians continued to face challenges and hardships.
“Our party remains committed to working tirelessly to address these issues and elevate the pains of our citizens.
“Our government is dedicated to improving economic opportunities and job creation, enhancing healthcare and education services, strengthening security and protecting our communities and promoting social justice and equality.
“To our Muslim brothers and sisters, l wish you a joyous and peaceful Eid Maulud.
“May this special day bring you closer to your faith, your families, and your communities,” the APC chairman said.
