By Sodiq Adelakun

The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion starting today, Monday, May 13, 2024, to facilitate road repairs in the Adeniji, Falomo, Bourdillon, and Queens Drive areas.

The diversion, which is expected to last until November 7, 2024, aims to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians during the repair works.

According to the Lagos State Commissioner of Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the diversion is necessary to allow for the completion of the road repairs, which are part of the state government’s efforts to improve the road network and reduce congestion.

Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and follow the diversion signs to avoid any inconvenience.

According to the commissioner, “To mitigate the traffic implications, the repair works will be conducted in phases. Phase 1 will focus on the stretch from Glover Road Junction on Alfred Rewane Road to Falomo Roundabout, starting from Monday, 13th May, 2024. During this phase, the portion of the road from Glover Junction to Falomo Roundabout will be closed to traffic.

“For the period of the 1st Phase repair works, motorists on Alfred Rewane Road heading towards Falomo Roundabout will turn left at Glover Road Junction onto Thompson Avenue to access Falomo Bridge through Bourdillon Road and continue their journeys.

“The other side of the road will be open to traffic (i.e Falomo Roundabout heading towards Mainland).”

The Lagos State Government also apologized for the disruptions that it will occasionally have while assuring the public that the repair works will be completed as soon as possible.
