Lack of party discipline reason I quit PDP — Jandor

Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, widely known as Jandor, a former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, has attributed his departure from the party to a lack of discipline and internal disarray.

Jandor made this known during a press briefing at his office in Ikeja, Lagos, where he officially announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Explaining the rationale behind his decision, the former PDP gubernatorial candidate pointed to persistent internal conflicts and weak party discipline as key factors in his exit.

Expressing his displeasure over the party’s failure to address anti-party activities during the 2023 general elections, Jandor remarked, “Our experience in the PDP was akin to working with habitual political saboteurs. However, we have chosen to prioritise our future rather than dwell on our past.”

According to him, his return to the APC was influenced by the party’s determination to secure electoral victories and establish a government dedicated to the welfare, security, and development of the people.

“We have opted to align with a political party that prioritises electoral success for its members, regardless of who is on the ballot,” he stated.

Jandor further disclosed that he undertook extensive consultations with political allies, supporters, and leaders across different parties before making the decision to rejoin the APC.

He also acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, in persuading him to return to the party.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to service, integrity, and progress. Together, we will continue to advocate for a better Lagos, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come,” Jandor assured his supporters.
