Kwara TUC appeals to FG to address Fuel scarcity

… Calls for extension of old Naira notes Deadline

In a bid to contribute their quota to the happenings in the country, the Kwara state Chapter of Trade Union Congress (TUC) has appealed to the Federal Government to address the menace of fuel Scarcity in the country.

The union also tasked them to urgently ensure availability of the New Naira notes Currencies in the banking system.

This is contained in a Communique signed by the Kwara state Chairman of the council, Comrade Tunde Joseph and the secretary, Com. Salami Moshud made available to Journalists on Friday.

According to the Communique, the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) kwara state council appeals to federal government to urgently address the issue of fuel scarcity and non-availability of new note in circulation and the problems facing by Nigerians in getting this commodity.

“This appeal is inevitable considering the difficulties the masses are going through in the country.

“The leadership at various strata of the economy should wakeup from their slumber and urgently tackle these challenges confronting the economy and protect Nigerians from this self-afflicted suffering in the country.

“The inadequate wages that cannot even buy a bag of rice couple with the high transport fees as a result of petroleum scarcity that has risen prices of goods and services in the country.

“We demand an urgent intervention and directive to the appropriate quarters to rise up to the challenges and find a lasting solution to these problems.

The TUC boss also called for extension on the deadline of the old denominations July ending to ameliorate the suffering of the masses in obtaining the new naira note.
