Kwara shortlists 1,811 applicants for school teachers, non-teaching roles
The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) has shortlisted 1,811 candidates for employment following a rigorous selection process aimed at enhancing the state’s educational framework.
This selection represents a fraction of the overwhelming 55,713 applicants who vied for positions across the state’s 16 local government areas.
A breakdown of the successful applicants reveals that 1,500 are qualified teachers, with a special emphasis on filling vacancies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.
Also, 311 non-teaching staff, including drivers, security guards, and office assistants, are to be employed in various schools.
The KWSUBEB confirmed that successful candidates have already been contacted through their valid phone numbers to receive their official offer letters.
KWSUBEB Chairman, Sheu Adaramaja, emphasized the board’s commitment to ensuring that hired personnel remain in their designated assignments, particularly in rural areas.
“The process was designed to recruit individuals who are not only qualified but also willing to stay in their places of assignment. We sought nominations from rural communities to bridge the critical manpower gap in these underserved regions,” Adaramaja said.
The documentation process for the new hires commenced on January 6, 2025, with candidates from Kwara North. The process continues through January 8, when the successful candidates from Kwara Central are expected to complete their paperwork.
