Kwara Govt completes Jebba waterworks project

The Kwara Government has expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done at the just completed construction of Jebba Waterworks in Moro Local government Area of the state.

The state Commissioner for Water Resources, Mr Usman Lade, stated this during assessment visit to the project site at Jebba.

This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Press Secretary to the state Ministry of Water Resources, Mr Adamu Saidu.

Lade, after taking a tour of the entire facility, commended the contractor  for delivering a good job.

The Commissioner, who was also at the Palace of the Oba of Jebba, Oba Abdulkadir Alabi Adebara, informed the traditional ruler that the waterworks project would soon be handed over to the state government for inauguration.

Lade solicited the support and cooperation of the Oba, urging his people to continue to guard and protect the project when finally handed over to the community for use.

Oba Adebara expressed appreciation to the state government for the construction of the waterworks in the community.

Adebara, who went down memory lane, described the project as a long-time aspiration of his people.

The Oba commended Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for bringing the project to fruition and making life easy for his people.

The Jebba traditional ruler said they have since been enjoying drinkable water for some months now as the contractor has been doing test-running of the facility after its completion.

The  representative of the contractor handling the project, Mr Samuel Nebechukwu, who conducted the commissioner round the facility, explained all the stages of operations to him and his team.

The President of Jebba Descendants Union, Mr Abdulkareem Abdulmale, thanked the state government for providing the community with potable water supply, adding that AbdulRazaq’s name has already been written in gold.

The commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mrs Christiana Asonibare; Director of Water Engineering Services, Mr Wopa Yusuf, and other engineers from the ministry.
