Kuje Prison attack: SPRO in top security meeting

Following the attack on the Kuje Correctional Center, Abuja on Tuesday, the Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), Mr Abubakar Umar, has told journalists, who have been making efforts to get update, that he’s in a top security meeting and will issue a press statement soon to keep the public abreast of the happenings.

The social media has been filled with various information about the ugly incident which led to the escape of over 300 inmates with many residents in panic about the consequences of such escape on the general peace and order of the society.

When the SPRO was contacted, he said “We are now in a serious top security meeting, a statement will be issued by 2pm, bear with us for now.”

However, journalists who went to see things for themselves were denied access into the prison, but interrogations with residents around the area confirmed the level of damages done by the attackers.
