The management of the Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero (KSUSTA) has directed students to resume immediately for the rescheduled second-semester examination.
Recalled that the institution was closed on Feb. 27, over the alleged killing of a 22-year-old final year student by a suspected mob in Aliero town.
The development culminated in students’ unrest that led to the closure of the university.
The Registrar of the institution, Alhaji Musa Labbo-Jega, said in a statement, on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi, that the decision to reopen the school was reached after due consultations between the school management and relevant authorities.
“I write to inform all the students that, after due consultations with relevant authorities, the Vice-Chancellor has, on behalf of the University Senate, approved the reopening of the institution with immediate effect.
“In view of the above, the rescheduled second-semester examination will continue on Tuesday, March 30.
“Accordingly, all students are directed to visit the university portal to download letter of undertaking, which must be signed by their guardians,’’ the registrar said.
He added that the signed letter of undertaking should be submitted to their respective Heads of Departments on resumption.
