Kogi’s CSDA boss charges office holders on honesty, diligence

The General Manager of Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Mallam Dauda Momoh, has appealed to public office holders to make honesty, diligence and transparency their watchwords in service.

Momoh, who made the call while speaking at a birthday ceremony organised in his honour by staff of the Agency on Monday in Lokoja, said this was essential if the nation must attain greatness.

He said leaders at all levels must exhibit these qualities for the led to have trust in them, give their best and attain high levels of development in all sectors.

Momoh said the achievements recorded by the CSDA could only be attributed to the cooperation of the officers and staff with due diligence exhibited by the leadership.

“We are in this world to serve God and humanity. Whatever you need to do as a person, do your best. Whatever role you are assigned play your part diligently.

“God has a reason for placing you where you are. Do your best, be diligent,” he said.

The General Manager thanked Gov. Yahaya Bello for the prompt payment of the state’s counterpart contributions and approval of budgets for the World Bank Assisted projects/Community micro projects.

He said the Agency had become a household name among communities across the state as a result of the positive ways it was touching their lives, making them feel government’s presence.

Speaking earlier in a special tribute, Mr Michael Abu, a publisher, said hitherto, most development activities were urban-centred due lack of awareness and participation on the part of rural communities until the inception of CSDP.

The Agency, according to him, has since assumption of office of Momoh assisted communities with the implementation of their felt needs, deploying the Community Driven Development (CDD) Approach.

He said the essence of any developmental effort was the people and to achieve that goal, the GM ensured that the CDD initiative made all projects to have direct impact on the social economic lives of the targeted communities.

Abu noted that the Agency had intervened in various sectors including education, health, rural electrification, transportation, water, socio-economic, environment and natural resource as well as Gender and Vulnerable Groups.

The Publisher of Nigerian Post newspaper hinted that under the General Manager, the Agency embarked on and executed over 210 Micro Projects comprising 72 in the East Senatorial District, 70 in the Central and over 68 in the West.

Representatives of the management and all staff who spoke at the “Surprise Birthday Breakfast” for Momoh at 46, commended the humility, honesty and transparency of the General Manager.
