Kogi Govt declares Dec. 29 public holiday to receive President Buhari

The Kogi Government has declared Thursday, Dec. 29, a public holiday to enable residents receive President Muhammadu Buhari, who will be in the state to commission  legacy projects.

The state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr Kingsley Fanwo, disclosed this  in a statement on Sunday in Lokoja.

Fanwo urged Kogi people to come out en-masse to receive the President and display the hospitality the state was known for.

He also urged all labour unions and security agencies in the state to ensure full compliance.

“The President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, shall be visiting Kogi  on the Dec. 29, to commission legacy projects across the state.

“In view of this and to ensure a hitch free reception of  the President, the government of Kogi under the leadership of Gov. Yahaya Bello, wishes to announce that Thursday, Dec. 29  has been declared as a public holiday.

“The decision is to enable the people of the state to receive our President.

“We urge all our labour unions and security agencies to ensure full compliance.

“The President will be commissioning life-touching legacy projects across the state,” Fanwo said.
