Kogi: Gov. Bello commences distribution of science textbooks to Secondary School students

As part of the drive to take kogi state Education sector to its zenith and pride of place in Nigeria, the Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello through State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has commenced the distribution of eleven thousands Physics and Chemistry textbooks for secondary school students across the state.

The educational materials been made available for the students came through the selfless and kind sponsorship gesture of the State Auditor General for local governments and Chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Usman Ododo.

Honourable Commissioner for education, Science and Tech Mr  Wemi Jones who represented Governor Yahaya Bello at the flag off of the distribution praised the Auditor General for his personal and selfless gesture to secondary school students across the state.

Hon. Wemi Jones who affirmed that Governor Yahaya Bello places premium priority on the education sector of the state noted that the  Auditor General in his wisdom has keyed into the the governor passion for the sector.

While commending the Auditor General for his wonderful contribution to seeing the actualisation of the Governors vision and passion for the education system, Mr Wemi Jones said that the government policy trust on education is geared towards deliberate and conscious effort on science and technology type of education system.

“We are going the way of SETM Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

“What you are witnessing at this event in Abdulazeze Atta Memorial Secondary School AMCO Okene today is to flag off the distribution of 11,000  (eleven thousand) Physics and Chemistry texts for the central senatorial District of the state which would be replicated in the two other Senatorial District in quick succession.”

Hon. Jones reiterated that the Kogi State government is desirous to ensure that the students of the state secretary schools gets to perform exceedingly well in science subjects.

The education Commissioner urged other political appointees in the state to contribute their quota to the development of education in the state which he noted to be the focus of Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration in the state.
