Kogi Assembly confirms Ojoma as new Commissioner for Agriculture

The Kogi State House of Assembly has approved the appointment of Timothy Ojoma as the new Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources.

The 8th Assembly gave the approval during the house plenary held in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Ojoma replaces former Commissioner David Apeh who was sacked for Anti party activities by Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.

The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello sent his name to the house for the Assembly to screen him.

During the screening of the Commissioner, the member representing Ibaji State Constituency, Comfort Nwuchiola said Ojoma has what it takes to make the ministry move forward.

In her submission, she appealed to her colleagues for the nominee to the Commissioner to take a bow and go, which was granted by members of the house.

Speaking with Kogi State House of Assembly Correspondents, the newly appointed Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources said he will ensure mechanized agriculture as against subsistence practice in the State.

He promised to boost food security during his stay in office.
