Kidnappers kill Ogun RCCG Pastor, as security operatives rescue seven members

Kidnappers have reportedly killed a Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Desires of Nations parish, Ogun Province 22, Abule Ori in Obafemi-Owode Local Government area of Ogun State.
This is just as Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps otherwise known as So-Safe Corps said that it has rescued seven members of the church abducted by these kidnappers stating that one of the kidnappers was also killed during a gun duel.
This was contained in a press statement issued from the office of the State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Commander Soji Ganzallo by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf.
The statement said that at about 12am on Saturday, July 1, 2023, the special operation team of the Corps, Owode-Egba Zonal Command under ACC Jimoh Rasaki Omoniyi received a distress call.
The call indicated that some of the members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Desires of Nations Parish, under Ogun Province 22, Abule-Ori in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area were attacked during a vigil, while seven members of the church were kidnapped and the pastor killed.
Ganzallo said the officers of the Corps were charged to go after the suspected criminals and were instructed to ensure the victims were rescued unhurt. And the officers swung into action immediately.
Ganzallo further revealed that the efforts of the Corps yielded a positive result as the seven victims were rescued unhurt while one of the kidnappers was killed and many of the suspects sustained serious injuries during a fire exchange.
So-Safe boss also revealed that the joint team of the Nigeria Police and the So-Safe Corps are strategically after the fleeing suspected kidnappers to capture them alive.
Ganzallo concluded that the corpse of the kidnapper that died during the crossfire had been deposited in a nearby morgue.
