Kidnapped Kaduna monarch Maude regains freedom

Danladi Maude, the paramount ruler of Jaba Chiefdom in Kaduna State has been released by his abductors.

The 83-year-old monarch was released Wednesday night according to his brother, Anthony Maude who spoke to journalists.

Danladi spent approximately 48 hours in captivity after he was whisked away on Monday on his farm at Gitata community of Nasarawa State.

While he was in captivity, his abductors demanded N100m ransom for his release.

His brother who disclosed that the monarch has been freed did not reveal any ransom was paid or not.

Upon the return of the monarch, jubilant residents thronged his palace to celebrate with him.

The abduction of Kpop Ham of Jaba came barely three weeks after the Emir of Kajuru, Alhassan Adamu, was released by kidnappers.

The Kajuru emir was kidnapped alongside 13 members of his family.

The monarch was later released 24 hours after his abduction.

But the kidnappers are still holding his family.
