Ken Etete: Enabling people to solve energy problems

A leader is as successful as the followers he has developed and such is the story of Ken Etete, the Group CEO of Century Group of Companies.

Under his leadership, the company has invested largely in human capital and local content to solve energy problems in Nigeria. With a career spanning over 20 years and a wealth of experience in diverse sectors of the Nigerian economy including more than 10 years’ experience in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, Ken Etete is passionately committed to the development of Africa’s human capital, believing strongly that it is a key driver in enhancing Africa’s competitive advantage and economic growth in the 21st century.

The leadership of Century Group was displayed as the largest operator of Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO) and flow stations in Sub-Saharan Africa. This follows the signing of a partnership agreement with    Samsung Global shipbuilding giant, Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria Limited (SHIN) on March 24, 2023.

Ken had invested huge resources in building the capability of Century Group to become one of the most celebrated companies in the country. The investment in local content by Century Group is so unique  in an industry that is mostly marred by foreigners.

Today, Century Group operates in the energy and non-energy sectors through seven main subsidiaries: Century Exploration and Production Limited, Century Ports and Terminal Limited, Century Energy Services Limited, Century Data Integrated Services Limited, Century Real Estate and Logistics, Elmina Petroleum, and Global Manning Resources Limited.

They contribute about 300,000 bpd to their national output through or operations and maintenance of 3 FPSOs, 7 flow stations and 9 oil fields.

Ken Etete has proven to be a dependable Oil and Gas CEO who turns to gold all that he lays his hands on.
