Katsina prepared to enforce the new minimum wage, says Radda

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to implementing the newly announced N70,000 minimum wage set by the Federal Government. Speaking at the Public Engagement for the 2025 Citizens Budget Participation Process and the Launch of the Community Development Programme in Katsina on Thursday, Radda stated that the state is fully prepared to lead in the execution of this wage increase.

“We are ready to take the lead in rolling out the new minimum wage,” Radda declared. “We are now awaiting the federal government’s guidelines to ensure a seamless and effective implementation.”

The governor underscored his administration’s commitment to improving public sector performance and service delivery.

“Our resolve to enhance the public service is steadfast,” he explained. “We have instituted measures such as competency tests for those entering public service and for leadership roles in public offices. These initiatives are vital to ensure we have a skilled and effective workforce for the people of Katsina.”

Radda also affirmed the administration’s proactive stance on employee welfare and public sector reform.

“The focus on reforming service delivery, along with our readiness to implement the new minimum wage, reflects our comprehensive strategy to advance governance and elevate the quality of life for Katsina State residents,” he concluded.
