Katsina: Danja District Council turbans 78, appoints 24 aides
The District Head of Danja Local Government of Katsina State, Alhaji Mohammed Tukur Bature, has appointed 78 title holders and 24 palace aides.
Bature disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) during his 30th Anniversary Celebration on throne on Sunday in Danja.
He stated that the 78 people were awarded traditional titles in view of their contributions to the socio-econpmic development of the area and their excellence in their chosen endeavours.
“Among the 24 persons upgraded, but some freshly appointed as my aides, will work directly with me in my palace,” he said.
The traditional ruler thanked his subject for the tremendous support and cooperation they have been giving him all these years.
“In all this period of my reign, I have never taken anyone to court and no one has ever taken me to court,” he said.
NAN reports that part of activities marking the 30 years celebration of the throne of the district head included Special Prayers in Mosques/Dinner and Goodwill messages from important dignitries and prominent sons and daughters of the area extolling the virtues of the celebrant.
Bature started his Elementry School at Bokori from 1945 to 1948, after which he procceeded to Katsina Middle School from 1949 to 1952,then to St. Paul Kufena College, present Government College, Zaria.
He later proceeded to Government College Keffi, Nasarawa State, Kings College Lagos, where he completed his secondary education in 1960.
The district head of Danja, who is also the Sarkin Kudun Katsina, was was admitted into the prestigious Inn of Court Law School, London, from 1961 to 1963, Holbon College of Law, London, from 1963 to 1966, where he graduated with LLB Hons. Law, before coming back to Nigeria same year.
