The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore has lent his voice to the growing outrage over the tragic killings in Uromi, Edo State, where 16 innocent individuals were mercilessly beaten and set on fire.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Falgore condemned the heinous act, stressing the urgent need for authorities to take immediate action in bringing the culprits to justice.

The Speaker’s plea comes as part of a wave of national concern following the brutal murders that have shaken the conscience of the nation.

“Such barbaric acts, as witnessed in the Edo killings, cannot and should not go unpunished,” Falgore declared.

In his statement, Falgore called for prompt and decisive action from both the Edo State and Federal Governments, urging that those responsible for this gruesome act be apprehended and prosecuted.

He emphasised that failure to act would not only embolden such crimes but would further erode the moral fabric of the society.

Falgore expressed his deep sorrow for the victims and their families, while also underscoring the importance of restoring the sanctity of human life.

“The culture of impunity cannot prevail in our society. If we are to safeguard the fundamental rights of our citizens, we must ensure that justice is served without delay,” he added.

The Kano House of Assembly Speaker’s call for justice is echoed by many Nigerians who have voiced their anger over the brutal killings.
