Kano Governor appoints Special Advisers, sets inauguration for today
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, has announced a fresh round of appointments and reassignments aimed at improving governance across the state.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, on Sunday, Yusuf appointed Ahmad Muhammad as Special Adviser on Publicity.
“Hon. Ahmad’s experience in grassroots governance and party organisation makes him a valuable asset to our administration’s communication efforts,” the statement read.
Yusuf also appointed Ahmad Ishaq as Special Adviser on Works, reinforcing the administration’s focus on infrastructure.
“Engr. Ishaq’s track record in project execution will be pivotal to our development drive,” the governor remarked.
Meanwhile, Tijjani Goje was elevated to Special Adviser, Lagos Liaison Office.
“With Tijjani Kaura Goje’s extensive experience, I am confident he will effectively represent Kano’s interests in Lagos, fostering stronger inter-state cooperation,” the governor said.
The appointments also include Sani Tofa as Special Adviser on Special Duties.
“Malam Sani’s distinguished service in the judiciary and civil service positions him uniquely to oversee critical assignments for the state,” the statement highlighted.
Additionally, Ibrahim Fagge was named Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, while Ladidi Garko was appointed Chairperson of the Kano State Civil Service Commission.
Both were previously Commissioners for Finance and Tourism.
The governor’s spokesperson confirmed that the swearing-in will take place on Monday, 6th January 2025, at 11am in the Ante-Chamber of the Kano Government House.
The event will also feature the inauguration of seven commissioner nominees recently screened by the Kano State House of Assembly, alongside the newly appointed advisers.
“These appointments reflect Governor Yusuf’s dedication to assembling a team capable of delivering results and addressing the needs of the people of Kano State,” the statement concluded.
