Kano Gov. inaugurates road project
As part of its initiative to advance infrastructure development, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf officially inaugurated the construction of a five-kilometre road in Kunchi town, Ghari Local Government Area, on Friday.
The announcement was made by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, on Saturday.
The statement revealed that this project, initially launched during the second term of Rabi’u Kwankwaso with the aim of enhancing rural infrastructure, was left incomplete by the previous administration under Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
Governor Yusuf emphasized the urgency of the project and instructed the contractor to commence work on-site within the week, warning that non-compliance would result in the termination of the contract.
“I urge the contractor to begin mobilizing at the site within the next week. Failure to do so will force the state government to cancel the contract,” the governor stated.
In related news, the governor has ordered the closure of accounts for various MDAs, and the NSCDC has recovered property looted from a Kano court during protests. Additionally, there has been recognition of Kano’s intervention in resolving issues within a Yoruba community.
Prior to launching the new road project, Governor Yusuf, accompanied by his deputy Aminu Gwarzo and other State Executive Council members, inaugurated a township road in Yandadi town. The governor and his team also toured the Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies in Ghari, where he reassured the community of the government’s commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure to support uninterrupted academic activities at the institution.
