Kano APC reacts to report of Kwankwaso’s ‘defection’ to PDP

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Kano State has described the reports of former governor of the State, Rabiu Kwankwaso decamping to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as baseless.
The Organising Secretary of the APC in Kano, Suraju Kwankwaso, spoke with Punch where he dismissed the story as baseless and unfounded.
Suraju said that Senator Kwankwaso had been an authentic member of the party, maintaining that he had no plan to defect to another political party.
According to him, an emergency meeting was in progress to react to the rumours.
His words, “As I speak to you, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has been and still an authentic member of the All Progressives Congress.’’
He said the APC national headquarters in Abuja “recognises Kwankwaso, as an authentic APC leader in Kano.”
He also argued that if the former governor had plan to defect to another party, he would, “as he did when he defected to the APC, make it known to members of the public by addressing a press conference.”
