Kaduna: Suspected drug dealers arrested smuggling substance inside bread in police cell

Three suspected drug dealers have been arrested by Officers of the Nigeria Police Force, (NPF) while trying to smuggle substance into Kaduna Police cell, using a loaf of bread.

The said suspects were trying to smuggle the substance to a suspected man of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, (NAFDAC) who deals in hard drugs and currently in the police net.

In a statement made available to Journalists in Kaduna on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Kaduna ASP Mansur Hassan disclosed that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Kaduna Branch Office nabbed the suspects.

The suspects, identified as John Solomon (male, 38 years), Kunle Oluwale (male, 45 years), and James Daniel Baba (male, 45 years) are all residents of Sabon Wuse, Abuja, and were arrested at the charge room of the SCID Kaduna.

Mansur noted that the suspects were found with a Bomtel handset and an unspecified quantity of drugs hidden inside a loaf of bread, reiterating that they attempted to persuade the Charge Room Officer (CRO) to deliver the loaf of bread to one Gideon Amao, a suspect currently under investigation by the SCID. He warned Officers to stay vigilant and observant in order to avoid any unfortunate incidences from happening.

He said, “The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Kaduna Branch Office has arrested three suspects for attempting to supply hard drugs to a suspect in police custody.”

The suspects, identified as John Solomon (male, 38 years), Kunle Oluwale (male, 45 years), and James Daniel Baba (male, 45 years), all residents of Sabon Wuse, Abuja, were arrested at the charge room of the SCID Kaduna.

“The suspects were found with a Bomtel handset and an unspecified quantity of drugs hidden inside a loaf of bread. They attempted to persuade the Charge Room Officer (CRO) to deliver the loaf of bread to one Gideon Amao, a suspect currently under investigation by the SCID.

“Photographs of the suspects and the recovered items have been taken. The investigation is ongoing, and further developments will be communicated in due course.
