The Kaduna state gubernatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Rt. Hon. Isah Ahiru has accepted the Supreme Court verdict that declared Senator Uba Sani as Governor of Kaduna State.

Ashiru noted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will reposition to reclaim the mandate of the people in forthcoming elections.

Speaking at a media parley in Kaduna on Monday, he said his experience was very unfortunate, distant from the concept of politics and unhealthy for the people of Kaduna state.

While accepting the judgement of the Supreme Court that affirmed Senator Uba Sani as the duly elected Governor of Kaduna state, last week, Ahiru said he never lost any election because the good people of Kaduna state voted for him overwhelmingly, the reason why he decided to seek for legal redress.

He also expressed optimism that PDP will bounce back in Kaduna, stressing that the party will not be deterred by the judgment of the supreme court.

Speaking on the forthcoming Kaduna state bye-election slated for February 3rd, 2024 Ahiru said they will put up strategies to win the elections and thereafter go back to their drawing board to strategise for the 2027 general elections.

When asked whether he will join hands with the government of Senator Uba Sani to move Kaduna state forward either in the state or at the Federal level, Ashiru said like other Nigerians who wants the best for his people, he will oblige.

“I have not lost any election. The people of Kaduna state voted for me and that is why I choose to go to the judiciary. I am on and I will continue. I have gone to the last resort and I take the outcome with good fate. My ambition is for the good people of Kaduna state.

“We will not be deterred by the hiccups. We wish the government well. PDP is still on ground in Kaduna state and we are going to work for the bye-election.

“What happened is very unfortunate. The terrain in politics has changed drastically. What happened is not politics because we do not have to take politics as a do or die affair.

“However, we will go back to the drawing board, try to mobilise our people and sensitise them because politics is a process and it is evolving,” he said.
