Kaduna gets new Commissioner of Police

The Kaduna State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty by CP Muhammad Rabiu as its 45th Commissioner of Police.
In a statement issued to journalists in Kaduna on Thursday, the Spokesperson, Kaduna Police Command, DSP Mansur Hassan said that the new CP officially took over the reins on December 31, 2024, succeeding AIG Ibrahim Abdullahi, who was elevated to Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
Born on July 16, 1969, in Ketare District, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, CP Rabiu brings a remarkable track record of professionalism and dedication. A graduate of Bayero University, Kano, with a Bachelor’s degree in 1990, he also holds a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (2009).
Since joining the Nigeria Police Force in 1994, CP Rabiu has held several strategic positions, including Divisional Police Officer in multiple commands, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations) in Taraba, and Deputy Commander of Operation Safe Haven in Jos.
His leadership roles span commands in Abuja, Lagos, Ondo, Rivers, and Edo States, earning him numerous commendations for gallantry and operational excellence.
Known for his expertise in operational leadership, intelligence-driven policing, and fostering police-community relations, CP Rabiu is expected to bolster security and enhance public trust in Kaduna State.
The Kaduna Police Command expressed confidence in his ability to lead effectively, promising renewed efforts to combat crime and promote peace across the state.
